Cross Cut Quilt Workshop
The moment I saw Debbie Jeske’s Crosscut Quilt, I knew right away I had to make one. “X” blocks are constructed and sewn together improv style. First you’ll make a stack of “X blocks” and sew them into grids. New blocks are cut from the “X block” grids and are then assembled into the final quilt, incorporating scraps as you go. This process is a great combination of improvisation, a dash of structure and “let’s use up some scraps”! You’ll need a background collection of 10” squares (or layer cakes) and contrasting colorful 1” to 1½” strips. Rev those rotary cutters and grab those scraps for a jazzy day of Crosscut fun!
